Hostel

The hostel at “I Giardini di Pomona” offers cyclists and backpackers as well as larger research and work groups the possibility to fully dive into the life of the Botanical Conservation Centre at a low cost. The building, which originally hosted a winery and its cellars, was skilfully refurbished by local craftsmen, still preserving much of the original atmosphere and materials, so that the place with its high stone barrel vault and natural stone walls can now provide comfortable accommodation to up to 14 guests.

 It is open to groups as well as to individuals willing to share spaces with other travellers.

The breakfast supplement includes: bread, cookies, homemade jams from fruit grown at “I giardini di Pomona”, milk, coffee, tea and herbal teas, fresh fruit, yoghurt and on request butter and eggs, for those wishing a savoury breakfast.

The hostel belongs to the Albergabici network and Fiab’s members travelling by bike can enjoy special services: one-night stay, a place to store their bikes safely, a tool kit for small repairs and, in case of more complicated issues, transfer to the bicycle repair station in the nearby town of Locorotondo.

Opening hours & Tours

The Pomona gardens are open all year round, every day of the week (from 9 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm) except Thursdays. In particular, guided tours of the Gardens take place every day of the week except Thursday. The guided tour can last up to 120′.
