Ostel­lo /o·stèl·lo/ sostan­ti­vo maschile, arcaico (lett. o poet.). Allog­gio; casa, palaz­zo, alber­go, dimo­ra ospi­tale, rifu­gio. The hos­tel at “I Gia­r­di­ni di Pomona” offers cyclists and back­pack­ers as well as larg­er research and work groups the pos­si­bil­i­ty to ful­ly dive into the life of the Botan­i­cal Con­ser­va­tion Cen­tre at a low cost. The build­ing, which orig­i­nal­ly host­ed a win­ery and its cel­lars, was skil­ful­ly refur­bished by local crafts­men, still pre­serv­ing much of the orig­i­nal atmos­phere and mate­ri­als, so that the place with its high stone bar­rel vault and nat­ur­al stone walls can now pro­vide com­fort­able accom­mo­da­tion to up to 14 guests.

ALBERGABICI The hos­tel belongs to the Alber­gabi­ci net­work and Fiab’s mem­bers trav­el­ling by bike can enjoy spe­cial ser­vices: one-night stay, a place to store their bikes safe­ly, a tool kit for small repairs and, in case of more com­pli­cat­ed issues, trans­fer to the bicy­cle repair sta­tion in the near­by town of Locoro­ton­do.
